The Shining? I read two pages and gave up. In my opinion, Stephen King is one the most overrated horror writers - having read Carrie and Christine, and been thoroughly bored by them, I have given up on him. Although I didn't mind the first half of the film 1408 the ending was stupid. He's just so... long-winded. I dislike his style, even though the plots are okay. His style is a major letdown.

My apologies to the legion of King fans I have just insulted, but to each his/her own.
