I know... I couldn't believe it when I read it on the Star Trek website.

Majel... dead? (tearfully). Star Trek will literally never *sound* the same way again

If Gene was the 'great bird of the galaxy' then Majel was truly the star in the Trek sky that he flew around. They complimented each other so well and brought so much to very idea of 'science fiction'. Star Trek could almost be a genre unto itself, thanks to the binary stars in the shape of Gene and Majel.
