This length is short because of the small areas where it is displayed.

If we increased it, we'd end up having the system auto-trim and append the evil "..." to anything past 90 characters in the various places this is shown to avoid ugly line wrapping, etc. So, I really do think it would be counter-productive.........

The intro area (title/brief) are like billboards. As members skim through the site, the shorter and catchier your title and brief description, the more likely someone is to actually click to read it. Consider it a creative writing challenge. *Wink*
