Well, when he was in love with the goddess, he must have had some moments when he thought more of her than himself? Maybe he even thought his power hunger comes from a need to show her what a mistake she made not choosing him? He became worse after the rejection?

I am already interested, as you can see - so go ahead and WRITE!
