You can make up your own lineage, you can mix pantheons (say have a russian god and a celtic goddess), or you can write about an already known demigod/goddess. However, any powers gained from the mix must be believable, you can't have the demigod have powers that are incredibly different from the parents (for example: a love demigod from a war god or goddess). Even if the story doesn't feature a demigod/goddess or siren it can still qualify to win an award, it just won't get the bonus 500 gps.
