Something different was done about vampires nearly thirty years ago, and then vanished. It was a soap opera called "Dark Shadows." It was in a small town on the east coast. (I forget its name) It had a New England flavor, as I recall. The vampire "Barnabas Collens," had a conscious. He only "fed" when he really needed to. He was searching for the re-incarnation of a woman he fell in love with hundreds of years ago, named "Joeset." (ABC?)

By the end of the soap, I thing he had been successfully turned back into a human by a doctor. I can't recall her name right now. Does anyone, not afraid of dating ones self, recall this soap?
