I think that's a huge part of the reason Twighlight was so popular. Not only do you have the sexy vampire, but he's chaste, too.

Then again, I also think that's a large part of the reason boy-on-boy anime (yaoi) is so popular with the younger girls. Pretty, no threat boys that look sexy but don't threaten your virginity.
