Genre Discussion: Romance vs. Love Stories
I'm two days early this week, but I just couldn't hold back. That and writing.com is having a contest on facebook, and this topic is appropriate, so I'm going to give myself an excuse to link to this forum and start this discussion.

Thanks to Fadz Author Icon - I've recently learned that Romance stories are not the same as Love Stories. Yes, it's true, I did not know this before. It was a relief to me, because I'm not a fan of the formulaic romance novel, but I've been concerned that I would have to alter some of my writing to fit in that genre. Now I know that love stories might be a better place for what I do.

So...now's your opportunity to discuss differences, why one is better than the other, how you distinguish the two, and if you have any preferences, favorite writers, or examples.
