Welcome to the club. I'm 45, but I don't even want to think about hand-writing my work;
I stopped doing that half-way through college. I am like you in regards to genre. I generally describe myself as a light fantasy writer, but the truth is I run with whatever pops into my head, Worrying about the genre only gets in the way of a good story.
