Though we really recommend against surfing with the back button, the browser shouldn't do that ... When you refresh the page, we don't send any boxes as being checked, in any case -- the checkboxes are always sent from WdC as un-checked. Thus, your browser is ignoring your reload. This could be a side-effect of their auto-form fill-out system, as it may assume that since you had previously checked that box, you want to check it again.

But just testing, Chrome has no such issue. If it's an issue, you can get around the browser bug by clicking the "Inbox" link in your email, rather than the back button.
