No not really. I guess it has something to do with her background. I was looking through Japanese girl names and that one stuck out at me. Then I started thinking that after the rain comes the sun...sort of like Amaya's life, and the smell that lingers after a shower. Amaya knew nothing but darkness until she joined the rebels.
