Understand my students
In all the years I taught writing, a big concept that I hammered at--not always successfully-- was staying in POV. I rarely had trouble with it. Now, that I am trying to write on something loosely based on my life I find I keep kicking back to 1st person. I am trying my best to maintain 3rd person POV, but it is hard. I love it when I get these Moments of clarity into the souls of my students. But, I'm having a great time. Go NaNo.
