A nano place to chat about NanoWrimo... |
I must say, this is my first NaNo, and I decided before I even sat down Monday at 12:01 am, that I WOULD NOT check my word count until I had stopped writing for that period. I wrote from 12:01 until 4:30 am and THEN checked my words. I slept. Wrote more. Went to work. Came home, Wrote more. I checked and validated my word count. Today I went to work, came home, did a few things around the house and sat down to write. I'm getting ready to head to bed now and just validated my word count. (I won't tell you what it is, for sure I will seem like a NaNo Maniac!) All I can tell you is not to let the word count rule - let the story rule. Write what you can. Let the Story flow. Let your fingers do the writing and remember, this is just a first draft. My goal, though I know the NaNo goal is 50,000 words, is to hit 100,000 words. For me, I'm using NaNo as a major motivator! HAVE FUN WITH IT! Don't let the word count drive you crazy, drive the word count crazy! ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** To escape Criticism: Do NOTHING; Say NOTHING, BE NOTHING. ~Elbert Hubbart A man who is "of sound mind" is one who keeps the inner madman under lock and key. ~Paul Valery |
