I can't believe it

Since there was no time yesterday for me to post this today's the day.
I write off and on. Short bursts of inspiration for a week at a time lead to a massive amount of words written. (Then I have to type...which doesn't usually happen within that burst of inspiration) The rest of the time, nothing at all. NaNo is changing that by forcing me to write every day for a month. So I've gotten a lot more done.
The one thing I can't believe is that:
4 days of NaNo=2 1/2 years of leisure writing (at least for typed word count..)
Why did it take me so long? My bursts of inspiration come about every year or so. And I'm not a very motivated person.
