A nano place to chat about NanoWrimo... |
Hello, all! Alas, I have now passed across the time-line from November to December. So I can enter no more counts for verification on the NaNoWriMo website. Which leaves me at my final official word count for the 2010 NaNoWriMo: 62,278 words. ![]() And wouldn't you know it. Just like last year's contest entry at this point, I still have more story to write! Luckily, this time around I can actually see the end of my story (versus last year's story, which I am still working on). Which of course will be followed by editing at some point. Even with editing-as-you-write, which I can never stop doing for some reason, there's still going to need to be a major top-to-bottom use of the red pen to note mistakes and changes during the story. I can't say I'm totally looking forward to that, but I guess it's a necessary evil. I'm also figuring I better buy myself several red pens! ![]() With all of that, I can still say this is a story I would be honored to put my name to and try to publish at some point. From the comments I've seen on the list here, I know not everyone has felt that way about their work. Which also makes me feel very lucky to have that reaction. Again congratulations to EVERYONE who participated this year. I know some folks are feeling a bit disappointed about not reaching the 50,000 word goal. For those who didn't, look at it this way -- You still made the effort, whereas probably quite a few of the people you know in everyday life either didn't or wouldn't attempt what you did. That attempt alone makes you a winner! ![]() And now... to make myself some hot tea ![]() Everyone take care! SkyHawk - Into The Music ![]() ![]() ![]() |
