Story Cafe

Hey guys
this is my first post. i write poetry and short stories but usually i hate whatever i write although other people think its good. I started a new short story a few days ago and it's a mix between fiction and non fiction. the thing is, i never liked to write stories in a poetic way i always wrote in the way i would tell it to a friend. do you think that this is a good thing or a bad thing?
