Welcome Trekkers. Have a cup of Klingon Raktajino, and enjoy our friendly Starbase.
The play did not go all that well for us, but it was not their fault. It was ours. We were all a bunch of young kids at the time and did not market the play well. Both actors came back afterward and hosted a speaking engagement to help us recoup the money we lost. I was only 17 at the time, it was a great learning experience for me. The play convinced me to give up on engineering as a major to switch to filmmaking and the arts. I never looked back.
I can't say that I've read any of Shatner's work. I have read most of the Original Trek novels and even have met a few of the authors that wrote them. I agree that there is a market for star trek stories, but I haven't thought of one yet. Then again, I'm only just starting to write after a very long hiatus.
