Location Location Location

So I have the story, the plot, the characters and the setting. I'm happy. But I'm wondering what to do about my setting, I know what it looks like in my head and it's like no place I've been before. I'm not sure whether to just pick a place and pretend it's there (though that feels too false because I won't know what it's like) or make up a place?! Does anyone have any suggestions?
