I've been on the site today, but it's soooo slow. And when I logged off, I got the gateway error. It's pretty typical for the site to have problems in the first few days of NaNo, as the flood of members updating their word counts and adding to their buddy lists is high. In a couple days, it'll calm down and you'll probably not have many problems logging in.
