I actually wrote my first novel completely by hand. Granted it was only 45k and I didn't finish NaNo that year but I felt more creatively connected to it that way. Granted, I would probably hesitate to do that large of a project by hand again ( though I did contemplate doing Nanowrimo this year by hand but decided against it when I got the laptop charge cord replaced) simply because rewriting it was... how can I put this... the most excruciating and devastating experience of my writing life.
