Dividing 50,000 words by the number of days in November, which is 30 . . . by my calculations, that's only 1,666 words a day, call it 1700 for a nice, easy rounding.

But we're all neurotic worriers, over-achievers driven by the anxiety that we might fail, so we drive ourselves sleepless, to drink, to mental self-flagellation . . .
