A nano place to chat about NanoWrimo... |
I understand what a shock it must have been to find out how many words were written by the NaNo authors. Ture there are people who either do not work outside the home, work part time, or who may be unemployed or retired. I fall into the retired category because of multiple disabilities. There are some situations where people mat only have a week or two to write their novel for NaNo. One of the things which is legal is to make notes and write an out line of your novel. Some people do this. Some just wing it. For me my goal was to at least write more than 1667 words per day hopefully 2500 per day. i have been fortunate to be able to do this. I am writing ahead as much as possible because I never know when I will crash medically and not be able to do anything. The most important thing to do is write as much as you can, as quickly as you can, and DO NOT worry about editing your writing. My understanding is that as long as you are actually writing a novel and it isn't a lot of reoeated information you are ok. They are concerned about content, plot story structure, etc. If there are typos and not a major amount that is ok. If there are misspellings this is ok. This novel event is for the purpose of writing your first draft of your naovel. As long as you do your very very best this is what matters. As long as you do not quit, this is what matters. No matter what you do; and no matter what the out come, you are a winner because you took that first step towards writing a novel. Your novel may wind up on the best sellers list one of these days. Enjoy your writing, be creative and bring your novel to life. You have the rest of this month, so keep writing. Please let me know if you would like some help and I'll be glad to do for you what I can. You and your writing matter. Viv (dogpack)& Bella (service dog)
