As dogpack saving 4premium+ ![]() Another thing is that you shouldn't assume that people are almost done just because they're near 50K. A lot of us with high word counts are aiming for novels of over 100K - I know I'm looking at a good 120K when all is said and done, unless I get lucky and my characters start moving faster. And like someone else said - sometimes it's fun competition. It definitely is for me. I see my friends Lorien and Ariana have higher word counts than me and I get all antsy and want to make sure that I keep the pace right along side them. I'm super competitive like that. But when it comes down to it, I'm writing for myself and it's what I enjoy doing. It's the only reason why I'm participating - it's the only reason any of us are participating. Because we like to write and have an urge to tell a story. So tell your story and don't be worried if other people are way ahead. We each have our goals. If yours is 50K that's great! Tell your story and stop worrying about where you stand. Or worry and write faster! ![]() Also, as an aside, I'm averaging 3500-4000 words a day, I usually write 800. I can tell you now that this pace is EXHAUSTING to keep up. At least for me. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** "Invalid Item" ![]() [Linked Poll's access is restricted.] |
