Distracted, huh. Guess we've all been there before. May I ask ... do you know what time of the day that you feel the most creative? Do you have more ideas to write about in the morning or the evening? I can tell you my creative period is first thing in the morning. Manys the time I've awoken to an idea in my subconscious. Thank goodness for the notebook on my nightstand.
My point is don't fight your natural tendencies. Your writing will come easier if you embrace that creative time in your life. even if it's only for fifteen minutes a day. Fifteen minutes a day equals seven and a half hours of good writing in a month--more than enough time to write a short story. You can do this.
