You’re dying The doctors say We all knew it was coming Some day Now you finally quit Because you’ve had enough of it We burn your cigarettes Out back in a pit You have to fight it somehow But it’s too late now What fills our heart is sorrow You lost your hair Something that doesn’t work Life is never once fair I plead in tears every night Praying for a miracles light But the darkness clouds anything bright I don’t want to leave your side You’re too weak to even smile wide And there’s so much pain I have to hide You’re putting on a great fight But you’re weakening in every sight Your hugs can no longer be tight There is no way we can prepare Doesn’t matter how long we’re standing here If only you had never taken that deadly dare In my heart we’ll always have yesterday Even if today ends it all We’ll always have yesterday Those games in the park My heart bonding to your presence So many laughs But they stay in yesterday They’ll never come around tomorrow We can’t prepare For the cost of all those times The smiles they scratched for miles In the past for a while But it’s poisoned you Hoping is fading That you’ll get through There is nothing more we can do I’ll forever miss you |
