Welcome to Writing.Com. You are definitely in the right spot to work on improving your craft. One of the best things about this site is that you get multiple points of view ranging from readers to professional writers and everything in between. It's great to see that you are open to constructive criticism. I've always been of the mind that improvement can only be made when we're open enough to hear the opinions of others.

Just so you know, there are a couple of 'In & Out' items where you can post your work for review. You may have found them already, but just in case, click on "Reading" on the left side bar and it will take you to a page where you will find links for the "Shameless Plug Page" and "Items Seeking Detailed Reviews". They are a great place to start plugging your stories.
