October Novel Prep Challenge

"NaNo Prep 2012" 
While writing the settings, I thought of adding a puppy or a dog to the storyline. Most people have pets. I don't know just where I'll insert the puppy yet, but I will, especially because a little boy is an important character, a catalyst for most of the twists in the story.
