You haven't made a mistake, I'm sure the other member was just trying to help you understand the rating system.
Don't be afraid to be honest and review, write about the mistakes you see, the things you like, and how the writing made you feel.
If you thought it was ready to publish and the public would like it, go ahead and rate it a five.
This might help you decide what to rate: "Guidelines To Great Reviewing"  and "How Should I Rate Items on Writing.Com?" 
Don't let anyone tell you what you should be rating their item. After some time, you'll get an idea of what should be rated a 1 or a 5 star. As long as you are consistent across the board, you'll be just fine.
