Noticing Newbies

Just introducing myself, I am a newbie from cape cod. I have enjoyed writing all of my life and have had a lot of life experience going through addiction and its consequences. I like to write about the pain and confusion I have gone through in life, but at the same time try to bring through a theme of hope and that there is always a way out of the darkness. I aspire to write poetry, short stories, and maybe even a novel some day. Any input on my writings would be greatly appreciated
