Yes, I have written from the feminie perspective. It was a bit scarry the first time I attempted it, but I channled some female role models that happened to be a good fit for the story I had in mind. How successful it was is open to debate.

I would urge you to try it. It sounds like you are leaning in that direction anyway. The caution is not to make the male a stereotype. Make him real. It is difficult but doable.
