If memory serves, the early scifi and fantasy writers often tackled race issue head on. Bradbury comes to mind with one of his mars stories. In it, earth(US) sent all the black people to mars, then the remaining whites blew up earth in a nuclear war. One ship gathered up the survivors and went to Mars seeking asylum. I remember reading in high school and being amazed that he tackled the issue as directly as he did. Be brave and tackle the subject head on. |
