Noticing Newbies

Hi i'm Jamie,
I am very new to this website and being around people who will actually help me with my writing. I have been trying to find my way around but this is confusing and I am a bit timid. First of all, to introduce myself, I'm a high school student with a passion for poetry and stories. What inspired me to write really, is the time I won a poetry contest with the topic of Halloween. Then sadly my grandfather passed away, so writing is my escape and my stress reliever. I really have high hopes for this. If you could please help and possibly review my stuff it would be most appreciated.
