Noticing Newbies

One thing that has worked for me is to go to a different part of the story. Later I go back and work out how they connect. Sometimes I rewrite the trouble part from a different point of view--another character, or change to first person. Once I do that, I can then go back to the normal voice of the story and rewrite it correctly. There have also been times I have backed up to where the story was going well and starting over from there. I think most people are right, I think you need to take a short break from it!
