Noticing Newbies

Hello!
I signed up to Writing.com back in 2012 when things were a bit crazy in my life and have only just found it and come to have a good look round.
I am an artist in that I paint, occasionally I write profound Facebook posts and am often moved to share my story through writing. I find it cathartic and apparently I'm OK at it. I am completely stepping out of my comfort zone by taking this up but I feel it is time for me to embrace the other aspects of my creativity.
I am hoping that being part of a writing community that I will be able to receive guidance, support accountability that will push me to explore this medium, make me look deeper into the skills of a writer and perhaps find something that can accompany if not even replace the painting.

Whilst this post is reaching those it needs to I will go and clean out the biscuit crumbs from under the keys of my laptop, dust off the dictionary, and find that battered tome that explains grammar.
