Personally, about the only time I write in 1st person is when working through an issue with a character. (ex--I wrote a side piece for a character to explain how she felt about her brother's death. Once I worked everything out in 1st person, I went back and rewrote it in 3rd person, but now it was fleshed out, and worked much better). I don't like to even read 1st person unless it is a really strong tale. Twilight, for example is written in 1st person, and it took several people to talk me into trying it. Once I did, the story line is really strong. Now that the movies are out, I will prob. never read it again. Third person!
