Hi Jimmy,

Welcome to WDC.

We are a very varied community in terms of writing - there are short stories, essays, novellas, novels and more.

Although I don't really blog, there are a few blogging groups here such as "Welcome To My Reality Forum" Open in new Window. where you can earn merit badges for your blogging.

There are a large number of short story contests on site - two of my favourites are "SCREAMS!!!" Open in new Window. (which is horror story specific) and "Writer's Cramp wishes WDC Happy 25th!" Open in new Window. (which accepts any genre). Both challenges offer daily prizes, and "SCREAMS!!!" Open in new Window. also has a weekly winner.

Most of our ongoing contests are listed here "Contest Central Station" Open in new Window. and should always be a stopping point. You can also check out ongoing activities here "Activities @ Writing.Com" Open in new Window. which mainly lists ongoing group fundraisers.
