Hi MelindaJean. I think giving your character a background with difficulties and struggle could lead to a type of dark epiphany for her. No matter how hard she tries her life gets worse/seems hopeless/ is a dead end. Killing her mother just tips the balance. She becomes darker and darker, but hits bottom and returns to a better outlook. Just a thought. Good luck. Whiskerface*Cat2*
