Dreams are the door to the heart, soul and mind in my opinion anyway.
They are were most of my stories come from. I even have a pad of paper and pencil next to my bed to jot down my dreams almost every morning.
Sometimes they don't make sense until I start to write it out on my computer other times they merge with other dreams to become something more.
How vivid my dreams are vary every night depending on my mood I'm guessing and sometimes I even realize I'm dreaming though I've found it almost impossible to maintain that waking dream state.
I have a book marker a friend gave me many many years ago that says;

Dreams will give you wings
