You can post any part that you want at a given time. It's all up to you. The main thing you'll have to watch for is certain items like the static item do have size limits so you don't want the whole novel in a single static item cause the system won't allow that much. If doing a book, it does help to use a book item and post within that item the chapters. You can do chapters as static items if you're just wanting feedback on particular chapters and/or you're still in first draft writing. You can post unfinished work on your port. A fair number of my items are just small parts of novels/series, so it's a rather common approach.

Signature is under My Account - Account Settings. Down the page under Additional Account Settings is Manage Signature(s). You can add one there if you want one but having a signature isn't always necessary. Mine annoys me often, especially when it shows up in my book items. lol
