If you haven't checked out "Writing.Com 101" Open in new Window. yet, that would be a great place to start. It covers all the basics in great detail.

A good place to go to get reviews is "The Shameless "Plug" Page" Open in new Window.. Another excellent way to receive reviews is to review others. Often the person you review will return the favor with a review. Start making friends and "fanning" people (covered in WDC101) so that you start your network within the community.
