Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
The Kick-Ass Writer by Chuck Wendig (almost everything in the book is straight from his blog, but I still liked to read it in book form. FYI: Lots and lots of expletives)
The Courage to Write by Ralph Keyes
And especially on-topic for NaNo: Fast Fiction by Denise Jaden

I had Hooked out of the library and sitting on my bedside table for 6 weeks, but it was due back before I got a chance to get very far into it.
