Fantasy dates in different ways. You can age most literature by the voice it is written in and the kind of language used simply.because language evolves. 19th century writers wrote differently to modern day writers.

Fantasy often deals with race and gender and the way an author handles those topics can also date the novel.

Ultimately write a good story and ot doesn't matter if it seems dated in 50 years time. Your audience is the reader today.
