Noticing Newbies

Hello! My name is Karen. I'm almost 54 years old. I use to write things down all the time thinking maybe one day I'd try my hand at writing again. Back in 2007 I wrote a poem and it got published in a book but that is as far as it got, and I ended up just giving up on writing. I still have a strong desire to write, I just have no idea where I should begin. I love poetry and short stories like daily devotions.

I am a stay at home homemaker on disability...I have some spare time on my hands and coming upon this coming Winter I will have a lot more time to do things and hoping to write again will be one of them. I have a lot of interests along with writing. Crafts, cooking, baking, decorating just to name a few.

I'm a grandmother, but all my grandchildren live far away. However, I do spend a lot of time with my adopted niece and nephew. The rest of my family lives far away so I have adopted a few close friends and they have welcomed me like family, which does help me a lot.
