Welcome Karen! Your going to fit in just fine here.

I would suggest as a way to get started that you check out or contest page. The only thing you typically win from a non-official contest is a merit badge, awardicon or some gps but its a place to start. I highly recommend you try either the Writers Cramp which I can't find the link for right now or "Newbies ONLY Short Story & Poem Contest" Open in new Window. There are a lot of great groups that can help you out as well. So, good luck! And let me know when you post something. I would be happy to come review it. It might be December before I do. I am in the middle of a writing marathon known as National Novel Writing Month. But, once its over... I am all yours.
