Re: How to start
Welcome to WDC, friend!

You've already started by introducing yourself! But a more precise answer would be fiction or non-fiction, write yourself. I don't mean put yourself into the story (fiction.) But write your perspectives, your thoughts, your feelings. Start with something simple, 1000 words, even less if you like. Ask for a review, and put that feedback to work!

Every writer started somewhere, and none of them were famous overnight. Writing is, to me, the most subtle form of expression there is. It may take 1000 words to invoke an emotion from your audience, but that emotion can be so powerful as to beget a most outstanding response.

If you aren't sure how to create items, and post them to your portfolio, a good place to start is: "Writing.Com 101Open in new Window. This is a great resource for a new member, as it pretty much covers every detail of this wonderful website.

I hoped this helped, and again, welcome!
