The Shanzi is a tantalizing seven-line form introduced by Canadian poet Andreas Gripp in December, 2005. Thirty seven syllables are distributed in a 4,5 5,4 4,4,5 pattern as explained and demonstrated in the following links: http://www.poetrywriting.org/Handbook_Shanzi_Sketchbook_John_Daleiden.htm http://allpoetry.com/poem/9903945-Crafting-Thought-by-Reason ...and here is my humble attempt: Winter Snow Pure white blanket in December chill Snow plows and shovels churn it to sludge The winter charm succumbs, transformed to grimy nightmare. Let the creativity flow from your soul! Dave "The Poet's Place " |
