Hi, I understand your frustration, and I agree with Steve. I am not much of a sitcom lover but more into crime/ mystery stories. Stories such as SVU, The Blacklist etc. Even they have the same basic plot, the good guys vs. the bad guys, and the crime committed. It boils down to the why and how. Some are a continuing saga with a story within a story, adding to making that episode unique because the audience continues to wait and try to figure that out as well as the main story.

So...bottom line, do not dump your story. Continue to write it. It will not be verbatim, but give it enough twists and turns.
