October Novel Prep Challenge

Bernie I generally have my characters come out of my... dreams. And then their image can sometimes be inspired by a picture I see and then building a character off that. They generally aren't people I know in real life, though I think every author creates a main character that has elements of their own personality embedded within them.

If I really want to make them seem 'alive' I have drawn them before in a sketchbook to get a better idea as well.
