I never understood how writing about characters could take the writer on a journey until I did the prep. Last time I did this, I resisted some and I wasn't happy with the outcome. That's why I left the story just sitting there. Did print it out all to look at it and see if I can salvage it. You know how that is...going back to your old writing and revisiting old characters.
This time, I won't make the same mistake. If need be, I'll wait until my characters decide what they want to do and if they sway away from the story being entirely romance, then so be it. Why fight them when I can't win, right?
