Robert Waltz Your rants are always a lot of fun to read day by day. I couldn't agree with you more than fantasy/sci-fi writers fall into a trap of not having a diverse ecosystem. It is either desert, ice planet, but we rarely see all the diversity that can be offered.

I like to have a mix with cliffs, wooded areas, and desert places as well. Each culture seems to have a different topography to call home. But, this is totally stuff you can use and talk about in your fantasy newsletter. I think that it's true we need to build our worlds and have in mind the diverse ecosystems we have on this planet alone. Who knows what kind of amazing stuff could be out there on other planets.
